Wednesday, July 14, 2004 Hello everyone, In yesterday's introductory email I provided you with an explanation of the name of the new e-book “ProBettor’s Day Trading Sports Betting System Aikido. The Art of value betting”. Now I will give you some information on the system basics and its history of creation. You will also get a link from where you will be able to download a database of more than 100 bookmakers for free! If you didn’t receive the first email or didn’t read it– here’s a link where you can get it. Several years ago I didn’t think that sports betting is a market :). I imagined that sports betting is more like a type of casino game than a market. Either way, the thing that got me interested was arbitrage betting – something that at least in theory guarantees you a certain income without any risk. Arbitrage betting (also known as scalping or risk free betting) is a classic example of zero-risk profiting from sports betting without knowing sports at all. For those of you who don’t know how this phenomenon works I will provide you with a short example: let’s say bookmaker 1 gives a price (or odds) for player 1 to beat player 2 and these odds are 2.1 or (or +110). At the same time you can see that bookmaker 2 gives odds for player 2 to beat player 1 also at 2.1 (or +110). If you bet $500 on the first player at the first sportsbook and $500 on the second player at the second sportsbook with these odds (2.1 or +110) after the game is over you will lose one of your bets and win the other. Whichever result occurs, after investing a total of 1000$ you will receive a 500*2.1=1050 USD payback which means that you earn 50 USD from this one simple process, which you can do in 1-2 minutes! 5% clear profit from just one gambling action which is risk free sounded very intriguing to me and that’s why I started researching this topic deeper. At that time I had one thought: “Arbitrage is a technique that works and is profitable. Anyone can make some money using it without knowing the sport itself. So maybe there are other ways to profit in sports betting by analyzing the odds themselves and using the differences in prices?” I started to research this area and also made some additional work analyzing the sports betting industry. I found an investor from the USA who financed my work and that’s when I created a database of more than 100 bookmakers. The creation of a system that doesn’t require knowledge of sports and profits from the market is not as easy a task as I thought when I started – it’s much harder but the work is done.
